New Molecule Uncovered in Alzheimer’s Study
(Source: Neuron) -- Researchers at the University of Bristol have identified a new molecule which plays an important role in the recognition of people and the type of memory impaired in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. It is now accepted that the brain’s ability to store information is greatly influenced by the strength of brain cell synapses (connections between neurons), or ‘synaptic plasticity’.  (Read More...)


Toxicity Mechanism Identified For Parkinson's
(Source: Emory University) - The presence of Lewy bodies, clumps of aggregated proteins inside brain cells, suggest underlying problems in protein recycling and waste disposal in people with Parkinson’s disease.
