Parkinson's Plays Havoc with Orthopedic Conditions

Dr. Lee Zuckerman, SUNY Downstate Medical Center In Brooklyn, recommends that Parkinson’s treatment plans include a multi-disciplinary approach addressing musculoskeletal health issues.

Smoking Increases Risk of Stroke

Fifteen Percent of Canadians with Dementia under 65
(Source: CTV News) A new study suggests that 71,000 people, or roughly 15 percent of the half-million Canadians living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, are under the age of 65. Approximately 50,000 are 59 years old or younger.

Assessment Technique Lets Scientists See Brain Age Before Symptoms Appear
(Source: UCLA) -- UCLA scientists used positron emission tomography (PET), which allows "a window into the brain" of living people and specifically reveals plaques and tangles, the hallmarks of neurodegeneration. The PET scans were complemented by information on patients' age and cognitive status and a genetic profile.
